With the lever in the NEUTRAL position,

pull the lever out from the console

(Figure 12, (4)) to disengage the clutch.

The lever controls the direction of the

vessel (ahead or astern) and acts as an

accelerator, increasing the engine speed

as it is pushed further in the FWD or REV

direction. When the lever is pulled out,

engine speed can be controlled without

moving the vessel. The clutch is

disengaged and the vessel is in NEUTRAL

(no-load position).

Note: Yanmar recommends the use of

a single-lever type console for

the remote control system. If

only a two-lever type is available

in the market, reduce engine

speed to 1000 min

-1

or less

before engaging and

disengaging the marine gear

clutch.
